Karl Dockstader, Indigenous Cultural Consultant, Niagara College

As an Indigenous Cultural Advisor, Mr. Karl Dockstader is a member of the Indigenous Education team at Niagara College, where he is committed to supporting and enriching the experiences of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students. A proud member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames (Bear Clan), Mr. Dockstader has held leadership roles at both the Niagara Regional Native Centre and the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre. In 2020, he was co-recipient of the Canadian Journalism Foundation–CBC Indigenous Journalism Fellowship, an award that amplifies Indigenous voices and promotes deeper understanding of Indigenous issues. He also co-hosts One Dish, One Mic, an award-winning radio program on 610 CKTB that highlights and explores Indigenous perspectives and stories.

Karl will speak about the role post-secondary education plays in fostering leadership within the Indigenous Community and beyond.
