Mayor Walter Sendzik on "The Compassionate City"
Mayor Walter Sendzik has been Mayor of St. Catharines since 2014 and he was elected on a platform to address poverty in our community, improve local governance as well as transit and long-term budgeting. Mayor Sendzik works consistently on these priority areas with staff, and community leaders at the City and Regional levels. As Mayor, Walter is focused on bringing strategic direction and focus to the City - at Council and in the corporation. At City Hall Mayor Sendzik is focused on inspiring a culture of excellent customer service and building a compassionate city.
Mayor Sendzik has shared his vision for a Compassionate City with numerous other municipalities and in January 2018 during his 4th State of the City address, invited the community on stage to join him in signing the Compassionate STC Charter - a commitment to making our city a more compassionate and prosperous community by taking personal action and working together.
