OPEN MEETING

Shannon Passero is one of Niagara’s most successful homegrown designer talents.  She is the co-founder and designer of the international brands Neon Buddha and Pure Handknit clothing. Her brands have touched the lives of 6000 workers in Chiang Mai, Thailand and she is recognized as a corporate leader in providing a high level of labour and safety standards. Her company donates 1% of everything they sell to projects that embody their ethical and sustainable philosophy. Having also established a grant to help female business owners in Ontario, Shannon is known as well for her role in the rejuvenation of  Thorold’s downtown. In 2015, when her business had outgrown the charming Old Firehall building in Thorold, she and her husband undertook a large scale renovation of the historic Post Office, working closely with Heritage Thorold to maintain the cultural  integrity of the structure’s architecture and appearance. This stunning new destination, winner of the 2016 Niagara Community Adaptive Re-use Award, houses Shannon’s uniquely stylish clothing and accessories.
